I envision this community as a port of call for new Mac users who are thinking, "Okay, what programs do I need?" and existing Mac users who like to keep up with cool new applications.

I've already added a bunch of community tags to get people started. Ideally I'd like for someone to be able to click on a tag to get a quick list of reviews and tips for favorite programs in that category.

Ready... set... go!

I have some possible interest suggestions: ibook, macbook, macbook pro, imac, mac pro, macbook air, mac mini

I also think you should post to dw_community_promo.

Do you know if regular members will have access to unused tags? You might want to tag this post with all of them in the meantime.

A promo post is on my list of things to do tomorrow, but thanks for reminding me.

I think as long as I pre-define tags they can be used by any members? If that turns out not to be the case let me know, but I will try to get summary posts up for each category over the next few days.

The problem is until they're defined on a post, they're considered at the private security level, and I think it means that only admins can see them, and not members. At least, that's how I've seen it work in the past--people would use an admin post and put all the tags on there, so people could actually see them.
