Mac OS X v10.6: About incompatible software

The list includes Parallels Desktop 3 and earlier, as well as several virus scanners and hardware drivers.

There is also a list of supported printers and scanners, and an overview of 10.6 printing features.

The new QT app, "QuickTime Player X", appears to be a rewrite from scratch. (This reminds me of the iMovie upgrade from a few years back.) If you miss anything that was in the previous version, you can reinstall QuickTime Player 7, or if you have a QT7 Pro key, that page says the QT7 player will be automatically installed when you upgrade.

I'm running Leopard on a MDD Dual Processor 2.25 GHz, with 2gig RAM. It probably needs the power.

I should order this! But I probably won't actually upgrade until I've upgraded my harddrive to be roomie.

But the space it requires while it's doing its installation thing is more than what I have left on my hard drive. Really, I want more space on my hard drive, period!

There are some features in Snowleopard that I've been looking forward to - replace items in the Trash in their original place! - so I'm definitely getting it. As soon as the first bugfix is out that is. I always wait for the first bugfix update before I get any new software :-)

PS Macworld's got a nice overview of QuickTime Player X.
